Drogheda (In Irish: Droichead Atha, meaning “Bridge at the Ford”) is a medieval town with abundant history to be explored.

Drogheda is a medieval town with unexpected magic and lore. Walled fortifications from the 13th Century are sprinkled throughout the town, including Lawrence’s Gate, one of the best examples of a 13th C. Barbican, and Millmount Fort that dominates the Drogheda sky line. A unique experience awaits within St. Peter’s Church where the head of the 17th Century martyr, Saint Oliver Plunket, resides! Alongside all of this history sits a modern town with all the shopping and gastronomy you could want.
